LIVE AGAIN by Hebe Brooks
LIVE AGAIN
by Hebe Brooks
If I could live again,
My father used to say,
With the knowledge in my brain retained,
I will be able to tamper the pain
Since it almost always goes away.
If the clock could turn back
To younger years of my past,
When my spirit was uncertain but fun,
I will eagerly smile, cry, or laugh
Since the experiences pass so fast.
If one hour is all I had,
Knowing that each soul owns a part
In the comedy of life,
I won’t be wasteful with my art
Since it was given to play a part.
If I had the chance to live again
With my role rehearsed at least once,
I would buy oils on that first day,
And add more red to my paints
To love life with passion once again.
Wonderful poem!!! Love the words and the story!
